How often do you find yourself doing things you’re not meant to do? Don’t worry it’s not only you, as long as human civilization has been around they have been suffering from this tendency to PROCRASTINATE.
I’ve already written a fully comprehensive guide to overcoming procrastination, however, this one is a bit different.
As annoying as it is, what if I tell you that there’s a quick 2-minute fix to this problem?
I’ve been trying it out for quite a while, I want to share it with you today so that you can try it out and see how it works in your life.
How 2 minutes can create a huge difference?
It is certain that most of your tasks won’t be accomplished in or under 2-minutes, however, it is more about starting than finishing it. Old sayings are always helpful “The hardest step is the first step.”
Think a little more:
Is it difficult to meditate for just 2 minutes?
Is it difficult to find 2 minutes for your body?
Is it difficult to read a book for 2 minutes?
So, the reality is you’re well equipped to find both, the time and the ability to do these things, but you’re needlessly avoiding them.
In fact, most of the tasks you’re avoiding or trying to avoid only take 2 minutes, for instance obviously you wouldn’t stop reading a book after 2 minutes that will be silly, so all it takes is to start and everything else is taken care of, another example would be getting fit, again join the gym, it will only take 2 minutes to join a gym and pay the membership fee, however, you will have to put in some effort to visit it regularly enough to see the change in your body, isn’t it?
Discipline to show up will take you a long way in life, Greg Plitt said it, “I failed is ten times more of a man than someone who says what if, cause what if never went to the arena” You won’t always win first place, there’s always going to be someone out there stronger than you, leaner than you or faster than you.” But, at least you showed up, you tried, no matter what the end result was.
Find two minutes for what you want to do, and if it can be done in under two minutes, do it now.
So, what actually can be done in under 2 minutes? I mean, it’s surprising how we procrastinate things which will actually take only 2 minutes, for instance, making up your bed immediately after you wake up, washing your dishes after your meal, sending that important mail that has the potential to change your life and the list can go on, but these things will surely take less than 2-minutes.
You see, the more you try to procrastinate and live your life in the comfort zone, life will send you more and more problems, life will keep throwing rocks at you, life will keep handing you resistance, struggles, issues.
Nevertheless, the journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step, take that first step today.
Don’t let your comfort zone be your enemy, address your limitations today and move beyond them because you’re here to grow. Oscar-winning actors don’t procrastinate their way to achievement, so why would you get into wasting time with the Netflix marathon?
How many times have you already looked at your life and said, “Man if only I knew then what I know now, I would’ve lived my life so differently?” So, is it not possible now to live the life of your dreams? Guess what, it’s never too late.
The only way to do it now is to try things, try and do the things you have never done because that’s what is necessary for you to grow.
And the best part? It only takes 2-minutes. Don’t procrastinate again, please, because there are only so many tomorrows, the best is now. I don’t want you to procrastinate it to Monday and give another excuse for Monday’s blues.
Will it work?
Well, I certainly hope it works for you, and the only way to find if it will work for you or not is to try it and try it now. So, whatever it is whether reading a book, meditating, doing push-ups or a full-body workout, your homework or any other thing that you’re procrastinating, do it for 2-minutes, not more, just 2-minutes. Maybe you’re reading this on your phone or on your PC, turn on your timer right now and do it.
Be honest to yourself, you don’t need to prove it to anyone, but to yourself and if you successfully do it for 2-minutes, let us know in the comments how it was, was it beneficial in any way or there’s something that needs to be done about it?
Whatever it is, let us know in the comments.
Never procrastinate again.
