There’s always that tiny voice talking in our head, that helps us keep safe and also makes us do stupid things. However, we’re going to talk about the negative things that this tiny voice says often.
I’m going to repeat the same thing which I did in my previous blog about ‘Things you should never say to yourself’ that if you cannot be mean to other people on their face, why would you do that to yourself? If you have a problem telling your best friend that their new T-shirt sucks, why don’t you have a problem saying that same thing to yourself.
“If you don’t have anything nice to say, don’t say anything at all.”
Negative self-talk often happens in the head; however, it’s as harmful as verbal criticism. Don’t you think the things we say to ourselves can actually have a huge impact on how we see ourselves and how our days go?
Here we will discuss 4 more things that you should never say to yourself.
No one will ever love me.
That’s one way to feel neglected and avoided, let’s change the words a little here, how about saying, “I am beautiful no matter what, and there are many things I love about myself.” Do you see the difference? Find ways to tell yourself that you matter and your existence matters. The way you choose the words can change the way you see yourself.
Try and remind yourself at least 3 things positive about yourself for every negative thing that you say to yourself. They may or may not accept you; however, self-acceptance is the most important thing. They may say things about you, they may doubt you, they may not even look you in the eye, do you believe in yourself or are you going to believe everyone else’s judgment on you? The choice is really yours.
I Give up Easily
No one is actually born on this planet earth with all the answers and all the skills needed to succeed. You’re on your own journey to find the answers and you might have just not yet found the right thing to do. It doesn’t mean you give up though. Learning is crucial for survival, as long you’re learning new things that are improving your skillset and you know that you’re growing, it’s okay. However, if the answer is no, you really need to question what is it that you’re wrong.
Instead of giving up on everything, take your time and find what is it that one thing you really want to do, once you find it, give everything you have. It’s easy to get frustrated with all giving up in your life, but make sure that you will keep on working until you find your true calling.
Being bad at one thing will never make you a failure, so just ease up on yourself and do the things that you truly love to do and focus on developing your positives.
My trust gets broken every time
Yes, it’s hard to trust someone completely. Simply be a logical person with your trust because it’s not that the trust hurts, but it’s the blind trust that hurts. But to experience peace and happiness one needs to learn how to trust.
You should know that you’re not alone who’ve been hurt, disappointed, abandoned, and rejected whether in a relationship or in friendship. We’re all in the same boat. It’s okay, jump in and have faith. Be honest, because if you won’t be honest, if you will have fears, you’ll be bound to make mistakes and hurt others. No one is perfect, so before trusting others, accept your own mistakes which will help you to deal with the mistakes of others in a more graceful manner.
Trust is not about that everything is going to last forever as it happens in a fairy tale, but it’s more about whatever comes your way you will be able to handle it.
Trust that. Believe that. Know that.
You’re simply a product of your mistakes and the thoughts you’ve been seeding in your mind for a long time, now it’s all on you whether you want to seed positive thoughts or negative thoughts. Whatever it is that you choose, control the consequences.
So, if things don’t go your way, your self-talk may become the most important key to the person you’re becoming.
